| INTRODUCTION |

Since 2010 until present, Open Contemporary Art Center (OCAC) has continually built up the cultural exchanges and networking with a verity of artists as well as art spaces from Southeast Asia, through a wide range of talks, space transit, exhibitions, residencies, co-creations, forums, and visits. In “Southeast Asia – Taiwan Forum and Exchange Program on Arts and Culture” this time, we attempt to discuss the three main subjects in order to extend and be further rooted the networking (or connections) with the art scene of Southeast Asia. Firstly, the concept of “CO – TEMPORARY” is regarded as temporary co-creation by the process of discussion with OCAC members, art project cooperation, Artist-in Residence exchange/transit, workshops and etc. The second part will be conducted through a forum discussing about the long-term concerns for Southeast Asian art scene. We invite six essential art spaces from Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, which includes artist residency organizations, galleries and artist-based spaces. The common issue is that how the conditions of different countries, religious, culture, economy and geography influence the ecosystem of art. Furthermore, we extends to discuss how do these art spaces encounter the variation of the era, the difficulties, struggles, and then the strategy and solution to survive. Lastly, we will bring these specialists from different art fields of Southeast Asia to Tainan for an open meeting, sharing conversations and expanding the connections with local art spaces and artists. Through different aspects of networking, we expect to connect and expand further interactions between Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
