HEAVY BREATHING
更多資訊請參考:heavyheavybreathing.com.

🎨The Artists

HEAVY BREATHING

Heavy Breathing is a series of experimental movement seminars designed by artists combining physical activity with group discussion on ideas related to their creative practice. For more information, please visit heavyheavybreathing.com.

Christian Nagler is a participating artist of Heavy Breathing. Lately, he has been doing ethnographic research into the performance culture of Silicon Valley, making videos like Shoulder Babies, and working to build an organization called phoebe. A book Human Capital: A Life was published in 2016. Other recent writing can be found in TDR, Performance Research, and Art Practical.

SHERYL CHEUNG

Sheryl Cheung was was raised in Taipei, New York, and Beijing. She works between experimental sound compositions, abstract scoring and performances to explore a material concept of life. Perceiving life as a force, a mobility that drives our innate persistence to live, she explores how active listening (working with sound) can be a mind and body practice to negotiate different noises of the world. Her work has been shown at the Taipei Fine Art Museum, International Computer Music Conference, Somerset Studios, Lacking Sound Festival, Chronus Art Center, and JOLT Arts Festival.

XIA LIN
Xia is interested in Tai Chi philosophy, martial arts, and cognitive processes of humans and machines. Using body as medium, Xia’s recent work attempts to create a circulation between mass and energy between different relationships. Xia perceives change as the basis of reality, and in this constant flux, Xia seeks to find something universal. Xia Lin is co-founder of lololol, an art project that focuses on understanding the fast evolving concepts of consciousness, sensory systems, and what it means to be human in the contemporary age.
