從BRANDON(1998-1999)創作軌跡上的迂迴引領著我到近期為2017年馬德里同志大遊行所拍攝的《簇新酷兒漫遊記》(2017)。BRANDON是為期一年的網頁敘事作品,描述著一位遭強暴謀殺的跨性別者Brandon Teena 的意識,沿著內布拉斯加的州際80號公路到虛擬球體。《簇新酷兒漫遊記》是一個四集的行動網路串連,追蹤在馬德里市中心裡恐跨與恐同犯罪的場域,書寫一群培力的新酷兒世代。在我的藝術與錄像作品裡,結合性別、類型、媒體與媒介等,驅使我挪用科幻敘事,重新想像非二元的科技身體。《體液Ø》(2017)一片設定於2060年的後愛滋未來時代,「零世代」在突變的愛滋病毒中誕生,他們所射出的白色液體成為21世紀的超級麻醉藥。在《I.K.U.》(2000)的續集《UKI》(2009-)當中,在失敗嘗試復活頹敗的賽伯格身體裡繁殖出一種新的UKI病毒培育種,被感染的聚集病毒抵抗。起來吧,超級新龐克們。你,還有他們。

關於藝術家

鄭淑麗
兼具藝術家與電影工作者雙重身份,鄭淑麗多以大範圍的藝術媒介與影片格式作為創作呈現,包含裝置藝術、表演藝術、網路藝術、公共藝術、錄像裝置、劇情長片與行動網路串連等。自1990年代的自給式虛擬空間到她現在對生物網路間的連結關心,她的創作探索之路揉合了生活與工作。鄭淑麗生於台灣,1970年代晚期開始旅居國外,現居於巴黎。

A trajectory charged with detours and deviations since BRANDON (1998-1999) takes me to the newly released WONDERS WANDER (2017) for Madrid Pride 2017. BRANDON, a one year web narrative in installments,  teleports Brandon Teena, a transgender being who was raped and murdered for failed “passing”, along Nebraska’s interstate highway 80 to virtual sphere. WONDERS WANDER, a mobi-web-serial in 4 episodes, tracks trans-homo-phobic crime sites off the center of Madrid and recounts tales of empowered nouveau queer generation. In my art and film works, a fusion of genders and genres, media and medium,  compels me to appropriate sci-fi narratives, to re-imagine non-binary techno-body. FLUIDØ (2017) set in the post-AIDS future of 2060, in which mutated AIDS viruses give birth to ZERO GEN whose ejaculated white fluid is the hypernarcotic for the 21st century. In UKI (2009-), a sequel to I.K.U. (2000), the failed attempts to resurrect defunct cyborg body propagate a new breed of UKI virus, infected to mobilize viral resistance. RISE UP, NEO ULTRA PUNK. You are. They is.

This lecture is held on the occasion of Shu Lea Cheang’s film screenings in Taiwan and it would be conducted in Chinese.

About the Artist

Shu Lea Cheang
As an artist and filmmaker, Shu Lea Cheang has worked with a range of art mediums and film formats, including installation, performance, net art, public art, video installation, feature length film and mobile web serial. From homesteading cyberspace in the 90s to her current retreat to BioNet, her exploratory trajectory merges life and work. Born in Taiwan, living abroad since late 1970s, Cheang is currently residing in Paris.
