充血:靜坐與演算法也說不清的事

多年前,舞者陳武康與影像設計孫瑞鴻便開始舞蹈與影像探索計劃,他們2016年的《強制對話》是舞蹈影像研究的階段性成果。在《非常感謝您的參與》計畫中,他們將視角拉寬至演出現場。在演出中共同參與對話的除了舞者和影像設計外,猶有舞台設計、燈光設計、聲音設計與舞台監督。他們以各自的專業尋找表演現場的靈光,創造一個眼前所見都將被質疑、強調,且顯而易見的場景。

王柏偉、孫瑞鴻與陳武康將從身體、影像與表演藝術交會的實踐與期待,進一步思考媒材可能與無法觸及的面向。於此同時,肉身與媒體的聯集,猶能透過靜坐與演算法了然於心?

王柏偉
王柏偉,藝評人。主要研究領域為媒介理論、當代藝術史、文化與藝術社會學、藝術/科學/科技(AST)。與張錦惠合譯有Niklas Luhmann所著《愛情作為激情:論親密性的符碼化》(台北:五南)。現為數位藝術基金會藝術總監,曾任北美館助理研究員。

孫瑞鴻
個人創作涉足表演藝術影像設計,實驗短片及錄像裝置。2013年參與影像設計作品:《空的記憶》,獲「世界劇場設計展」(World Stage Design 2013)互動與新媒體首獎。同年獲選為美國紐約林肯中心Directors’ Lab客席設計師。孫瑞鴻設計作品曾於亞洲、北美洲及歐洲等地發表,如台北國家戲劇院、美國紐約大都會歌劇院、古根漢美術館、EMPAC實驗媒體表演藝術中心等。合作對象包括紐約The Builders Association、Elevator Repair Service、Alex Timbers、王嘉明、周東彥、葉錦添、驫舞劇場、Elena Demyanenko、Lars Jan、Baboo Liao、Kristin Martin、Chi-Wang Yang等。

陳武康
畢業於國立藝術專科學校舞蹈科。2001到2013年在紐約Feld’s BalletTech和Peridance跳舞,在Eliot Feld的作品中擔任獨舞者及首席。2004年,於台灣共同成立驫舞劇場 ,擔任藝術總監一職至今。2011年他開始與不同領域藝術家進行跨界創作,從2016年至今持續與即興音樂鋼琴家李世揚合作,共同策劃舞蹈與音樂結合的即興創作平台《混沌身響》。2016年開始與泰國當代舞蹈大師皮歇・克朗淳 (Pichet Klunchun) 進行跨國文化交流與實地探究計畫,2018年呈現演出《半身相》,也展開三年合作計畫《打開羅摩衍那的身體史詩》。2019年臺北藝術節傑宏・貝爾《非跳不可》擔任導演執行。

Dancer Wu-Kang CHEN and visual designer Ray SUN have began the collaboration few years ago. In 2016, performance Forced Discussion can be viewed as a phase resulting from the collaboration. In Thank You So Much For Your Time, they shifted the focus to the scene of the performance. Not only dancers and visual designers, but also stage designer, lighting designer, sound designer and stage supervisor in the performance altogether participate the on-going dialogue during the producing process. They seek the aura with their profession, creating an apparent and visible scene that can be questioned and emphasized.

Po-Wei WANG, Wu-Kang CHEN and Ray Sun will discuss the cross-disciplinary practice and experiments on body, image and performing arts, as well as tangibility and intangibility of the medium, asking: is the intersection of body and medium could be comprehended through algorithm and meditation?

Po-Wei WANG
Po-Wei Wang is Artistic Director of Digital Art Foundation. Previously he held position as Assistant Researcher in Taipei Fine Arts Museum. His research interests include Media Theory, History of Contemporary Art, Sociology of Culture and Art, and Art/Science/Technology (AST). Translated Niklas Luhmann´s Liebe als Passion: Zur Codierung von Intimität into Chinese together with Chin-Hui Chang.

Ray SUN
Ray SUN Ruey-Horng is a video artist, designer and director creating original works for galleries and theaters internationally since 2008. His works focus on human perception, memories and the uncanny experiences in our daily lives. In 2013, Ray was selected to attend Lincoln Center director’s Lab. His recent video design works include: Elena Demyanenko’s Echo/Archive at EMPAC. Yu-Ming Yang’s Le Corbusier at Konzert Theatre Bern. Kristin Marting’s IDIOT at HERE Arts Center. Lars Jan’s MAKANDAL at Guggenheim Museum. The Assembly’s That Poor Dream at New Ohio Theatre. Chia-Ming Wang’s Richard III at National Theatre Taipei. Ray received his MFA from CalArts.

Wu-Kang CHEN
Chen graduated from. In 2001 to 2013 he was dancer at Feld’s BalletTech and Peridance in New York, and became the soloist in Eliot Feld’s work. In 2004, he co-founded Horse Dance Theater in Taiwan and became artistic director. Since 2011, he has begun collaboration with artists from different disciplines. Since 2016, he worked with improvised pianist Lee Shihyang, co-founding the creative platform Primal Chaos – Dance X Sound improvisation. He worked with Thai choreographer Pichet Klunchun with cultural exchange and site-visit project, presenting Behalf and three-year project Rama’s House. He is also the stage direction of Jérôme Bel The Show Must Go On in Taipei Arts Festival in 2019.
